Lilly is a classically trained artist who lives in Chapel Hill, NC. She received her art training at the Romero-Hidalgo Arelier in Florida where she studied with Venezuelan artists, Abdon Romero and Sonia Hidalgo. She has also studied painting under many renowned artists such as David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw, Scott Burdick, John Budicin, Dan Goozie, Carolyn Anderson, Gay Faulkenberry, Eric Michaels, and Phil Beck.
Lilly's formal education includes both Masters and Doctorate degrees from the University of Miami and a Bachelor degree from Columbia University. She has had a continued interest in art since childhood, although, she did not begin painting seriously until adulthood. The masters who have most inspired her are John Singer Sargent, William Merritt Chase, Joaquin Sorolla, as well as a host of European impressionists.
Lilly works primarily in oil on a variety of surfaces. Her paintings embrace a range of subjects that include the figure, landscapes and still life. She is especially inspired by idyllic landscapes, and figures that evoke quiet repose, contemplation, or introspection. Emotions are an integral part of her express design.
Lilly has shown her work at juried shows and her work has been acquired by private collectiors across the United States and Europe.
